Independent Fabrication NAHBS Preview

Independent Fabrications always push the envelope every year for the NAHBS. This is one of the many bikes they will be showing this year. A cool single speed coming in at 13lbs with carbon belt drive system. I really wish i could make it to the show this year. It seems like a lot more activates and people at the show this year. I will be posting a lot more on the show and things arise. For now here is more on the Independent Fab. Build

Transient Messenger Bag Release

Transient has been making some killer hip pouches and u lock holsters for a while now. March 8th they will be releasing their messenger bag line. The bags are nice looking and made by a small business.

Orange 20 Cycles has a few prototype bags and they put some pictures in their Flickr set.

Prolly posted what alex from Transient had to say about the release.

Just wanted to give all of you an update on our upcoming release. We've been crazy-busy trying to juggle a million things at once, in preparation, so please excuse us for leaving you all in the dark. We have been getting flooded with questions and feedback regarding the photo's of our new bags that have been floating around the web. At the moment, we are reaching the final stage of our product research. Our 4, courier "bag-beaters", are reaching the finishing point of their 6-week trial period. We are happy to say (going off what they have been telling us) the bags are holding up great!

We are also happy to announce that we have finally landed on a release date. March 8th we will be having a retail release through our site, where the bags will be available to the public. Shortly after they will be available to our wholesale dealers.

To kick things off, we will be releasing our first model of courier bag in 3 sizes (Small, Medium Large) falling into a retail price range of $130-$170 (with a 20% discount to you working couriers out there). Full Product specs will coincide with the launch, but let us just say that we are quite happy the end result of these bags.

A couple pictures from the Park Tool Summit

The summit was super cool I really learned a lot not just about the new products that are coming out but also about how to service and work on things that i will be seeing everyday in the shop. I didn't get to snap a lot of pictures because the classes were so packed with information and hand on procedures but i did get a couple.

Scored these today

A guy brought in his ridiculous looking 90,s cad 3(ill snaps some pics if its still there tomorrow) with miss matched shifters on it witch were real cruddy and not shifting right so he wanted a new set so everything matched and didn't want the old ones so i snagged these took the grips of and soaked them in some degreaser for a long while then cleaned them up and every thing worked great. I also got some gatorskins with some life still left in them.

Bicycle Repairman!

Cat Eye Velo 5 cycle computer

I recently picked up the cat eye velo 5 cycle computer for my commuter bike so i didn't want to get a real fancy computer. I really like this computer its cheap and easy to set up and use i like the simple one button operation you can go through all of the functions with the one button. The computer is removable from the docking base for security reasons. And for $25 it is one of the best deals out there. So if you are looking for a basic computer i would defiantly recommend the velo 5.
  • simple to set up
  • simple to use
  • one button operation
  • removable
  • waterproof
  • $25
